Linda Veilleux, the founder and lead designer of Innovative Fashions, has been following her passion for clothing all of her life. She just can’t seem to get enough of sewing, knitting and, in the last nine years, hand felting, continually learning about new techniques and styles. Clearly, she was born with this talent and it has been a guiding force along her path. No matter what other professional skills and education she has obtained, they all lead back to the one place where she feels most comfortable- creating clothing!
Linda was sewing for her dolls at the age of eight and by the age of fourteen, she was creating her own fashion clothing. As a young adult, she had the opportunity to live in Norway and couldn’t pass up learning the crafts of that country, but it wasn’t until she came back to Vermont that she began to study the art of hand felting. It seems she can’t get enough of the creative process of the ancient craft. With her knowledge of sewing she has been able to combine her skills to come up with innovative clothing for the fashion market.
As you can see, she is inspired by beauty and it shows in the quality of her creations. She continues reinventing herself each day by continued education and experimentation, not to mention her desire to teach others. There just doesn’t seem to be any end to her creative desires.
If you ask her when she expects to retire she will tell you herself:
"I'll never retire, I'm having too much fun!"
